    Hello from Christy at Artemis

    Hello everyone,

My name is Christy and I am the owner of Artemis Cosmetics. I would like to take this time to tell you a little about myself and my company.

I started in the mineral makeup business because I developed rosacea over 1 and a half years ago. The liquid makeup I was using at the time started irritating my skin more and more. So I decided to look for another makeup that hopefully would not bother my skin. My search came up with nothing. I started doing research on mineral cosmetics, and bought some to tryout. It was then I realized that minerals were for me. After using mineral cosmetics for a little while, I decided I would like to help others like me with sensitive skin, and Artemis was born.

I have been in business now a little over 1 year and I sell loose mineral cosmetics. Foundation, eyeshadows, blush. I am now working on an all natural lipstick, and facial oils, and a clay mask as well.

I enjoy my work, and love answering questions, or helping someone pick out colors. It is very rewarding for me when I hear someone say, "I have found a perfect match".

I would like to say Thank you to all the women here on the BeautyJunkies forum who have tried and who will be trying my products in the future. And if I can be of help, please don't hesitate to let me know. You can email me at christy@artemiscosmetics.com

Thanks again, and have a great day!

    Christy

    Hello Christy,

welcome to our forum! It's great to have you here!

As I am already in love with your foundations I am very eager to get some more information about your lipsticks.
How many colours are you planning? Will the consistency be more glossy or more matt/creamy? I often have problems in finding the right colour because I just can't imagine how the colour will look on me. Therefore I would like to know if you are going to offer samples of your lip products?

    Thanking you in advance,

    PaleGirl

    Hello Palegirl,

I haven't decided how many colours I will carry yet, but so far I have about 6. The lipstick will be more of a creamy texture and moisturizing. As far as samples, I cannot send samples of lipstick through the mail. I haven't found a cost effective way to do this yet. I will let you know if that changes.

    Have a great day!

Re: Hello from Christy at Artemis

    Hello Christy,

thank you so much for the extremely (!!) fast shipment of my fullsizes and all those goodies!!

When I opened the package, I took a look on the ingredients and noticed that "serecite" stands in the first place. Is this the secret of this soft and smooth finish of your foundations?

Regarding your lipsticks: creamy sounds very good to me, I've never really liked all this glossy stuff. Well, I really don't want to get on your nerves , but wouldn't it be a possibility to smear a little amount of the lipstick mass with a spatula into those small containers you use for foundations? Then we could try it with a lip brush or with our fingers.... PL offers lipstick samples like that, they put only a really tiny amount in containers. It is enough to test and I think it won't be too expensive for you that way....

    Regards,
    PaleGirl

    Hi Palegirl,

You're welcome. You did receive your order very quickly. That's great.

Serecite is the first ingredient in my foundations. I have found this formula is less drying on my skin. I have rosacea and very sensitive skin. So when I developed my foundations, I had that skin type in mind. I also use zinc oxide, which is an anti-inflammatory and is soothing to the skin. It's also a sunscreen.

I can send lipstick samples in the little jars. As soon as I complete my colors I will get the pics on the website for everyone to see. It's coming soon.

Oh, and you're not a pain. I love communicating with my customers. That is the only way for me to get the feedback I need to improve. So write me anytime, I will always answer.

Thanks and have a great day!

Re: Hello from Christy at Artemis

    Hi Christy,

thank you so much for selling lipstick samples soon! In my opinion this option makes finding the right shade so much easier!

I have very sensitive skin too (I suffered from neurodermatitis for many years) and have to say that your foundation is really the softest non-drying formulation I have ever tested!

By the way, what do you think about flocked sponges? I have been using one for the last few weeks and I like it so much more than brushes! This way of application makes my pores disappear! Did I use the wrong brush before (it was a flat top)? Are you possibly planning to include flocked sponges in your assortment anytime? It's very hard to find them here in Germany....

    Many regards,
    PaleGirl

Re: Hello from Christy at Artemis

It is so funny you should mention the flocked sponges. I just added to my brushes and accessories catagory a 3" round flocked sponge or powder puff it's sometimes called. I sell them for $3 USD each. I use the sponge as well to apply my foundation most of the time. When my skin is flared and irritated I use that because it is less irritating to my skin. And I like the way the foundation go on. I also use less foundation than when I use the brushes. Although I do like the badger hair brushes, they are my second choice to apply foundation, blush and eyeshadow.

With the sale the sponges are $2.40 USD each. You can see a picture here

Hihi, I think that was a clear case of telepathy!

Perfect, my next order will certainly contain one or two of those flocked sponges! I really love them!
