Yesterday I learnt a couple of lovely idioms:

"I'm one sandwich short of a picnic"
or
"I'm one beer short of a six-pack"

means "I'm crazy". In German we would say "I don't have all cups in the cupboard" ... which is true: I'm just having a cup of coffee..

The weather here in the South is still undecided When we went out this morning it was still sunny and warm but now it seems we are expecting some rain!

Oh, I love idioms, even though I'm not up-to-date at the moment. But there are two I particularly like:
The first one is "to swan in". It means a person is coming into a room or joining a situation very self-confident (like a proud swan), drawing all the attention to his-/ herself for a while but avoiding before he/she leaves again.
Examples: "Some people find it easy to swan in and out of other people's wars and go home completely unaffected and if you can do that, that's great."
"Be prepared for some outrageous dress-up characters to swan in to see and be seen"

The second one – well, it is more an expression – is: "You need the hair of the dog that bit you last night" but it is always shortened to "you need the hair of the dog". It means that if you got drunk on beer (or wine or tequila ...) last night you should have just a little glass of beer (or wine or tequila ...) the next morning to ease the hangover. It is supposed to work but I never tried!

Did anybody see the casting for Bully's "Wicki" yesterday? It was the last show and they finally found the actors. I watched it every week because I found it very funny. In this casting the actors were the main focus, not the jury, like in so many other shows

At the beginning there was a guy who didn't know anything about the characters (I don't know, why he went to the casting anyway ). The jury told him that they could imagine him as a character called "Ulme" - he came out of the room and said "they said I would be brilliant playing "Tulpe""
